Hello all!
Today we hopped on the bus around 8:15 in Paris* (*to be said in French accent*) en route to Geneva, Switzerland! After hours on the bus, we stopped at a pleasant roadside station in the beautiful French countryside for lunch. Soon, we were back on the road. Another three hours later, we arrived in Geneva!
Our first stop - the United Nations Headquarters.
We were greeted by a young German man named Julian. He gave us a quick yet informative tour of the UN Headquarters building, which included the building that used to house the League of Nations. We also had the opportunity to observe a human rights conference.
Afterwards, we explored the city center of Geneva. The lake was large, clean, and beautiful. Unfortunately, the famous Jet d'Eau fountain was turned off. There were so many people lounging in the sun on the grass in the parks and near the shore as well as getting active and exercising. Everyone seemed to be enjoying "le belle journée" with us.
Soon enough, we were on the bus once more. Although we spent the day in Geneva, it is very difficult to get a hotel in the city. So, we drove back across the border and arrived at our hotel in France.
We've since eaten a delicious dinner and strawberry tart dessert, played ball and frisbee, and relaxed. And shortly, we will hit the sack...we're getting up early in the morning ! Bonne nuit ! :*
